This term in Year 5, we have exciting new topics to learn about.

We are going to shoot into our new Power of Reading text, ‘Cosmic - It’s One Giant Leap for Boy-Kind’ by Frank Cottrell-Boyce as a basis for our English lessons this term. We will be practising our writing skills and creating our own play scripts, balanced arguments and poetry. We will continue with our earth and space theme during our Science lessons. In Maths, we are developing our understanding of place value. We will also be learning more about the four operations and recapping our skills using a range of problem-solving activities. We are continuing to revise our times tables using the TT Rockstars website. In History, we will be learning about the Early Islamic Civilisation, which links closely to our R.E topic, all about monotheistic religions including Islam, Christianity and Judaism.
