Mortimer the Bear visits Woodston

As part of the RE Block ‘Belonging’, Suzanne and Mortimer the Bear visited the school to talk about belonging to a church.

As part of the RE Block ‘Belonging’, Suzanne and Mortimer the Bear visited the school to talk about belonging to a church. They talked about where Christians meet, the stories they read about in the Bible and the rules (known as the ten commandments) that Christians try to follow. Mortimer the Bear also talked about what happened when he was christened.

Prior to the visit, the children had talked about what it means to belong to their families and how they know that they belong to Woodston Primary School. They were able to apply the concepts of shared rules, shared living and learning places and the school logo with what Suzanne and Mortimer the Bear talked about.

The children listened carefully and asked some very interesting questions.

We are now looking forward to a visit from someone who follows the faith of Islam to find out how Muslims know they belong to their faith.
