Peterborough Music Hub Summer WCIT Concert

Our Year Three and Five children participated in a concert at the Salvation Army Citadel in Peterborough last week.
Year Three - Violin and Cellos
The children in Year Three have been learning to play violin and cello with Mr King. The children were excited to showcase their talents in a concert on Wednesday the 9th July 2025, which was hosted by the Salvation Army to celebrate the instrumental learning that has taken place this term. The children proudly shared their musical achievements by performing before an audience of peers from schools across the city at the Salvation Army Citadel.
Year Five - Drums
The concert was an opportunity for Year Five pupils to showcase their musical talents on the Djembe drums which they have been learning this term.
We had a lovely morning. We arrived at 9am and our Year 3 pupils were the first to perform their violins and cellos with Mr King – they were fantastic! We then watched other schools perform their various instruments. In between performances, teachers from the Music Hub taught us new songs. Our favourites were ‘Penguins Attention’ and ‘Boom Chicka Boom’ as they made us laugh and were fun to perform. We were the last class to perform our instrument after sitting so patiently through others’ performances. We performed the song ‘I Like Bananas’ where each child got the opportunity to perform their solo (8 beats each). It was lovely to see their concentration and confidence when doing this.
Our drumming instructor said Woodston were the best-behaved school and sat beautifully in-between performances. Mrs Bali (Year 3 teacher at Woodston) loved Year 5’s performance. She said it gave her goosebumps.
